TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE
The BA Great Britons Bursary Competition (the "Competition") is open to UK passport holders who are resident in the UK and are aged over 16 years old (those aged 16 and 17 years old must obtain a legal guardian's consent to enter the Competition and for both of you to travel if you win flights in the Competition.) ("You"). If Your entry relates to a group of persons, You must have the consent of all members of that group to enter into this Competition on these terms and conditions and, if any members of the group are aged 16 or 17, their legal guardian's consent to enter the Competition and to travel with other members of the group aged 18 or over or with one legal guardian on behalf of all the group.
Employees of British Airways Plc ("BA", "We", “Our”), its group companies employees of BA’s agencies if the employees work for BA or any of its group companies, any of their family members or anyone else connected with the Competition may not enter the Competition.
By registering for the Competition you are accepting these terms and conditions, the Website Terms and Conditions at www.greatbritons.ba.com/terms, the Website Privacy Policy at www.greatbritons.ba.com/privacy and the Web Forum Acceptable Use Policy at www.greatbritons.ba.com/acceptable_use
To enter the Competition, go to www.greatbritons.ba.com (the "Site") and complete the registration page at www.greatbritons.ba.com/signup. When you register, You will be asked to provide Your name, age, date of birth, address, telephone number and e-mail address. Unless when you register you consent to us contacting you for marketing purposes, We (and third parties acting on behalf of BA) will only use this information in relation to the Competition and in relation to any participation in promotional and marketing activity required by Your entry to the Competition. At the time you register you will also be asked to provide the name of a referee, who will be asked to confirm relevant details relating to Your Competition entry should You be provisionally short listed for the later stages of the Competition.
Once you have registered for the Competition you can upload Your Competition entry materials (which maybe text, images, video and/or audio) (the "Entry Materials") at www.greatbritons.ba.com/login following the instructions available on that webpage. The Entry Materials must be prepared in accordance with the Entry Materials Guidance at www.greatbritons.ba.com/how-to-apply and the requirements of paragraphs 9 to 11.
We must receive Your entry for the first round of the Competition by 29 March 2009 (the closing dates for subsequent rounds will be notified on the Site). Entries received after the closing date for each round will be entered into the following round of the Competition (except in the case of the final round of the Competition).
You may only enter the Competition once within each voting period of the Competition.

By registering and submitting Your entry materials to the Competition (and in consideration of Your entry being accepted to the Competition) You agree:
to take part in the public voting and the judging processes – further details of which will be published on the www.greatbritons.ba.com Site;
to give permission to BA (and third parties acting on behalf of BA) to make Your Entry Materials available on the Site and any other media which may include other internet sites, mobile, television and/or radio for marketing, advertising, promotional and/or sponsorship purposes and grant BA (and third parties acting on behalf of BA) an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, make derivative works, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence Your Entry Materials for such purposes; and
the right to use Your name, age and town or city of residence for the sole purpose of identifying You as the author of Your entry;
to participate in promotional and marketing activity; and
if You win the Competition, You will be required to submit additional video, photo and text content giving an account of the trip made using the Bursary and Your achievements.
We retain the absolute right to take down Your Entry Materials from the Site and/or remove Your entry from the Competition without notice at any time and for any reason including, but not limited to, if Your referee fails to confirm relevant information relating to Your entry to Our satisfaction.
Your entry materials must be Your own work, must not be copied, must not contain any third party materials and/or content that You do not have permission to use. You represent and warrant that you have (and will continue to have during the duration of the Competition) all necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions which are required to enable BA to use Your Entry Materials without any charge, fee or expense and that the entry is Your own original work, that it is not libellous, defamatory, obscene, indecent, harassing or threatening and that it shall not infringe any third party rights including, without limitation, copyright, performance rights and privacy. You will provide evidence of such on our reasonable request. We reserve the right not to display or to cease to display Your Entry Materials for any reason including, without limitation, if We believe that Your Entry Materials are in breach of these rules or are in breach of any applicable law or regulation or otherwise may create a liability for BA. We have provided additional guidance in relation to what should not be included in Your Entry Materials, the 'House Rules'. In the event of any conflict between these terms and conditions and the House Rules, these terms and conditions shall prevail.
You shall fully and effectively indemnify and hold harmless us on demand from and against all claims, demands, losses, costs, charges and expenses (including, without limitation, legal expenses) arising from a claim by a third party that the provision by you of, or our authorised use of, the Entry Material submitted by You infringes any rights (including, but not limited to, privacy, performance rights, copyright and/or other intellectual property rights) of any third party.
BA may at its absolute discretion determine not to put Your Entry Materials forward to the first round of the Competition without providing any explanation of the reasons for rejecting Your entry.
If selected for the submission first phase of the Competition Your Entry Materials will be displayed on the Site where members of the public will be able to view them. A panel of judges will then select a long list of 24 entries based on the strength of the entries. From that list a second panel of judges will select a short list of 8 entries to go the next phase of the Competition.
If You are selected for the next phase of the Competition, Your Entry Materials will be displayed on the Site where members of the public will be able to view them and vote for the winning entry of that round of the Competition. The Competition winner will be notified promptly. If We are unable to contact the winner using the contact details We have been given within 14 days of the public vote closing We retain the right to instead select the runner up as the winner.
Entries to the Competition are being judged on creative or artistic merit or other subjective criteria, and BA and/or the Competition judges (acting reasonably) reserve the right not to select a winner, and/or to remove or amend selection criteria and/or the structure and operation of the Competition if the Competition entries are not of the requisite standard. The result of the Competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
We take no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.
Your Entry Materials will not be returned to You.
You can find full details of the Bursary prize for the Competition at www.greatbritons.ba.com/about. The Bursary consists of flights (economy class) on a scheduled BA flight from a UK airport. BA reserves the right at any time to change the departure, destination and/or arrival airports in the event of changes to the BA flight schedules. You will need to make Your own transport arrangements to and from the UK airport and destination airport and will be responsible for making, and paying for, all arrangements at Your final destination including but not limited to transport, accommodation, food and drink and spending money. You must pay all other costs associated with the Bursary and not specifically included in the Bursary. It is Your responsibility to ensure that you obtain travel insurance, have all necessary visas and that Your passport is valid, has a sufficient period before expiry and sufficient clear pages for entry into the country to which you travel. The Bursary cannot be exchanged or transferred by You and cannot be redeemed by You for cash or any other prizes. Flight tickets are not exchangeable and in the event you miss a booked flight, you may have to make and pay for alternative travel arrangements at Your own cost.
We will substitute the prizes with other prizes of similar value in the event that the original prizes offered are not available.
Details of the winners will be displayed on the Site.
No purchase is necessary to enter the Competition.
The Promoter of the Bursary is British Airways Plc whose registered office address is British Airways Plc, Waterside, PO Box 365, Harmondsworth, UB7 0GB.
Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude the liability of BA for (a) death or personal injury as a result of its negligence, (b) for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or (c) in relation to travel with BA, for any liability arising under BA's General Conditions of Carriage. BA accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by You as a result of entering the Competition or accepting the Bursary. BA further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to You or any other person's computer or mobile phone resulting from participation in or downloading or uploading any materials in connection with the Competition.
BA reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition. BA reserves the right at any time to change these terms and conditions.
The Site is only intended for access from the United Kingdom. BA makes no representation that materials on the Site relating to this Competition are appropriate or available for use at other locations and access to them from territories where their contents are illegal is strictly prohibited. If you access the Site outside of the United Kingdom, you are responsible for compliance with all local laws.
The Competition will be governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England provided that if you live in a part of the United Kingdom other than England, the applicable law of that part of the United Kingdom will govern and any dispute will only be dealt with by the courts there.
This prize draw is open only to Eligible Participants. An Eligible Participant is resident in the UK, is aged 18 or over, and is not an employee of Taste Events, British Airways Plc (“BA”), or any associated third party, and has been personally invited by BA to take part in this promotion. BA reserves the right to verify the eligibility of Eligible Participants. By taking part in this promotion, Eligible Participants confirm that they accept the terms and conditions set out below.
To qualify for the prize draw, the Eligible Participant must enter the prize draw via Twitter by retweeting the message ‘GB are giving VIP passes to 1 lucky winner for the @TasteofLondon event RT this message for a chance to win!’. All entries must be received by 10th June 2010. The prize draw will take place on 11th June 2010 at British Airways Head Office. One winner will be drawn at random from all received entries.

BA accepts no responsibility for damage or loss resulting from misdirected or incomplete entries arising from computer malfunction, viruses, bugs or other such causes. BA is in no way liable for the reproduction or indirect access via third party web site or home page access which reproduction misstates or omits any of the information or terms and conditions connected with the promotion.
The prizewinner will be notified on Twitter within 7 days of his/her winning date by email or telephone and he/she will be required to confirm his/her acceptance of the prize within 3 days.
The promoter is not liable for any postal delays.
If the prize remains unclaimed after 3 days or denied, a supplementary winner may be drawn at BA’s sole discretion and will be notified via Twitter.
The prize consists of one pair of VIP tickets to Taste of London, Regent’s Park including fast track entry, access to the BA VIP Lounge, glass of Laurent-Perrier Champagne and £20 worth of crowns. All travel costs must be organised and funded by the prizewinner.
Prizes are non changeable and non transferable. No cash or credit alternative prizes are offered. BA reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of similar value should the specified prize become unavailable for reasons beyond its control. All third party terms and conditions relating to the prize apply.
The prize is available on any day between 17th–20th June during the following sessions Thu – Sat 12:00-16:00 or 17:30-21:30 (except Thu evening) or Sunday 12:00-17:00. Tickets to a specific session are subject to availability.
BA reserves the right to cancel or amend without notice the terms of this promotion and any tickets issued in the event of major catastrophe, war, earthquake, civil or military disturbance or any actual or anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other circumstance beyond its reasonable control.
By entering this prize draw, you agree to take part in any publicity relating to the prize draw if invited and to the personal data you supply being used by BA or its agents or contractors to administer the promotion.
Promotional materials form part of these terms and conditions. This promotion and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with it shall be governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
BA is responsible for publishing details of the promotion accurately and administering all aspects of the promotion for providing the event tickets.
